Giovanni Santopuoli, scientific researcher

 

Giovanni holds a PhD in Forest Management and Environmental Land Use Planning. He accumulated working experiences in Europe, Africa and Latin America. His work for Nature&Society focuses on:

- Developing thematic desktop maps using Geographic Information System software such as  ArcGIS and QGIS, as well as online interactive maps using ArcGIS Online

- Developing forest inventories and designing sampling studies

- Carrying out statistical analyses of social and environmental data 


Xavier Sabate´, scientific researcher

 

Xavier (Espai TReS, Barcelona) is specialized in civic engagement in environmental conservation practices. He studied environmental sciences and worked for more than 12 years in the contexts of participation, communication and land use planning. He supports land development and land stewardship projects by working as team facilitator and by helping groups and public bodies to reach the level of empowerment needed to implement responsible land management    

 

 


Emily Kilham, English proofreader and translator

 

Emily is a freelance proofreader and translator. She holds a BA/BSc (Honours) degree as well as an MSc in Environmental Governance. She has 5 years experience editing and translating peer review articlres, reports and book chapters in the fields of forest and environmental policy, environmental conflict management, cultural heritage and landscape management. She previously worked as a policy officer in the agricultural and environmental portfolios of the Australian public service, and as a researcher at the University of Freiburg (Germany). 



Fernando Herreros, Spanish proofreader, editor and translator

 

 

Fernando holds an MSc in Human Geography and a MSc in Ecology and Environmental Management. For over 7 years, he has collaborated with publishing houses, research institutes, environmental consultancies and non-governmental organizations as web contents manager, editor and English/French to Spanish translator and proofreader. He has also been involved as a researcher in a variety of projects in the fields of Forest Ecology, Environmental Governance, and Ecosystem Services Valuation.

Giorgio Vacchiano, scientific researcher

 

Giorgio holds a PhD in Agrarian, Forestry and Food Sciences. He worked in Italy and in the US on topics regarding forest ecology and management. He focused most of his working experience on mountain and protection forests. He is an expert of computer modelling for the forest sector and of the development and analysis of scenarios for climate change in the forest environment. 


Andrea Bruni, kinesiologist

Andrea holds a MSc degree in physical education. He is an expert of posture science and he is leading the Healthy Researcher Campaign at Nature&Society. He is the performer of scientific and practical seminars through which he trains researchers to carry out their job without negatively impacting their physical and mental health.
